Traveling has made me realize there are two types (maybe more I have not explored yet) of vacations. The first, as I’ve come to call it  ‘city touring’ is where you make an itinerary and spend everyday exploring, visiting new places, doing activities, walking all day, eating out, sight seeing, you get the vibe…Super thrilling but you’re tired at the end of everyday.

The second type of vacation is where you literally lay on a beach for a week and do absolutely nothing except that. As I enjoy both kinds very much, this type adheres more to the definition of vacation to me, and was much, much needed. So I can’t give you lots of details on this trip as you’ve probably guessed by now, I laid on a beach for a week and did absolutely nothing…

Ironically, the sun was very healing despite the sun burns. I stayed in Kemer, Antalya. Soaking up the sun, swimming, and sleeping to sounds of waves crashing…I’m not trying to be poetic, I literally slept so well for the first time in months. The beach is genuinely the most calming and healing place to me. I did not want to bring this up but also being a Pisces…you get it now.

In the main city of Antalya; the one day of city touring; we explored the old town and the famous bazars of Turkey. I’ve come to realize that bargaining is not for the weak…At the bazars, you can find a variety of things, lots of souvenirs, dishes, foods, accesories and the whole experience is worth trying once, even for the weak. The aesthetic of the Turkish culture is so unique and rich in colours, textures and designs. A lot of handcrafted plates, tea cups, lamps and more decorative pieces. I find it so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

                                                               // Simit, cheese and more simit… //

I felt like I was eating for the first time in my life, this tends to be monumental moment every time I travel, just adds to the experience of course. If you know me well, I am a picky eater, but its been getting better as I travel. A lot of carbs on this trip and I regret none of it, if anything I miss it a lot. Breakfasts are my favorite meal of any day and especially in Turkey, offering a variety of little bites, a lot of simit, cheese, olives, eggs & more. Truly one of my favorite styles of breakfasts.

Last thing to mention about this trip, the cats of Turkey are no joke…and they ate well during the week of my visit. I was astonished by the amount of cats everywhere we went. What more could I have asked for during this (true & literate) vacation. I would love to come back and do nothing except waking up the beach and just “beach” all day…

Traveling is such a privilege and I am forever grateful to experience such places. Thank you for reading!
